Wash the apples then cut each apple into thick slices. Use the end of a piping tip or apple corer to cut out a circle in the middle. Coat the apple slices shape in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Then, Wrap the pastry strips around each apple slice until the apple is covered. Do this by wrapping the dough around the apple slice, passing through the center as many times as needed to cover the apple. I used two strips of dough for each slice. I don’t like wasting, so I decided to use the leftover dough. I shaped it with a cookie cutter.
Then, I brushed the tops with egg wash or milk and placed the pastries on a lined baking tray. As the pastry puffed up, I made sure there was enough space for them to spread out on the trays.
Bake in the middle of the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed up, flaky, and golden brown. After baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool on the tray.
Then, use a spatula to transfer them onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once they are cool and ready to eat, serve with a drizzle of homemade caramel sauce.
