Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 ½- 2 pound mini potatoes also called creamer potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup of broccoli
  • 1 cup green and red bell peppers
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Butter Compound:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Instructions

  • The first step is to preheat the oven to 375 ℉ and prepare the vegetables. For this, I halved the potatoes and sliced the remaining vegetables into small, bite-sized pieces. Simply for the sake of display here on the post, I put them in bowls (above image). However, you may certainly put them immediately on the sheet pan in order to save the additional dishes and make the process of cleaning up a breeze.
  • Next, drizzle olive oil, and season with Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper to your taste. stir until all is well coated.
  • Then, place in the preheated oven and cook for about 10 minutes. I like to start the cooking process on the veggies first as I like my steak medium well.
  • In the meantime, season the steak with salt and pepper. Allow the steak to cool to room temperature while you prepare the butter compound.

How to prepare compound butter:

  • This is a very simple step. in a small bowl, combine butter ( soft to room temperature), 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened), fresh dill, salt, black pepper, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, and 1 clove garlic minced.
  • Mix well, and place it on a piece of plastic food wrap to freeze for at least 10 minutes. This can be done ahead of time to have it ready for this recipe or other uses. The butter mixture is great over veggies, fish and more!

Lets make the steak

  • Now take the sheet pan out of the oven with the vegetables, and while being careful, make some room for the steak. Add a couple of slices of the butter mixture on top of the steak.
  • Return the pan to the oven, turn the temperature up to 450 ° F, and cook for 10 minutes or until the desired doneness.
  • Remove from the oven and let the steak rest for 5 minutes. add more butter if desired!

Notes

If you want the steak to be cooked to medium-well doneness, place it in the oven with the vegetables at the same time.
