Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (bone-in)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt (I use kosher salt)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/3 cup white wine ( you can sustituted for water)

Instructions

  •  Preheat the oven to 350-degree temperature.
  •  Season the pork chops with 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1 teaspoon salt,1/2 teaspoon black pepper and 1 teaspoon chili powder (for that distinctive smoky flavor).
  • Place them in an oven-safe pan and bake them for roughly 20 minutes. (Or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Lastly, add 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and, the juice of 1 freshly squeed lemon into the pan. Set the oven to broil and cook the pork chops on each side for about 2 to 3 minutes to get a nice crispy crust.

Notes

Tips and Tricks to make Juicy & Flavorful Pork Chops:
  • It is essential that the meat is at room temperature before cooking. This will help the pork chops cook evenly. If the pork chops are in the fridge, take it out and leave it on the counter for about 15 minutes before seasoning.
  • Obviously enough, try not to overcook your pork chops. It’s a huge disappointment to eat dry meat. My suggestion is to end the cooking process when the chops reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees. This is crucial as the pork chops will continue the cooking process even after it’s removed from the heat. The thicker the pork chops the faster it will reach that internal temperature.
  • Having a meat thermometer will help, as it is very difficult to tell by the look of when the pork chops reach a safe temperature to consume.
  • For me, it took 18 minutes in the oven at a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit because the pork chops were thin.
  • Let the chops rest for a few minutes before serving. The pork chops will distribute all the juices and maintain they're moist and tender!

Let's Talk Sauce!

  • It’s important to use unsalted butter to control the salt level.
  • Add white wine to make the sauce (the better the wine quality, the better the sauce). When alcohol reaches a high temperature, it will evaporate, keeping the sauce kid-safe.
