Safely thaw the frozen shrimp and pat dry.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil and butter. Then, sauté the garlic and onion for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and the onion becomes translucent.
Next, add shrimp and season with black pepper, paprika, salt, and lemon zest.
Squeeze half of a lemon, add a little more butter ( optional) add fresh parsley and stir to combine.
Cook the shrimp just until they turn pink and opaque, which typically takes 2–5 minutes per side, depending on their size. I'm using large, raw shrimp.
I cooked them for about 4-5 minutes. Remember that they will continue to cook slightly after being removed from the heat, so it's better to slightly undercook them than to overcook them.
