Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne 1 tsp for a good kick

Instructions

  • Just combine all the ingredients and transfer them to an airtight container or one of these spice containers (affiliate link) to be accessible at all times.
  • Once made, store this in a cool, dry place where it will stay good for around a year. Avoid humidity, which can cause the blend to clump.

Notes

If you want to tone down the spiciness of your Creole Seasonings without sacrificing their delicious taste, follow these tips:

  • Reduce Cayenne Pepper: Since cayenne pepper is one of the primary sources of heat in Creole cuisine, you can reduce the amount of cayenne pepper in your seasoning mix. Start with a smaller amount, taste, and gradually add more if needed until you reach your desired level of spiciness.
  • Use Mild Paprika: Choose a mild paprika type (affiliate link)  for a smoky flavor with less heat.
Of course, you can ground all ingredients using a food processor or blender to have a more fine blend.
