Cranberry Pear Sauce
One of my favorite holidays is Thanksgiving because I see all my children, grandchildren, and close friends. Last Thanksgiving, I made a simple and tasty cranberry sauce that didn’t last long on the dinner table. As a result, I decided to surprise my family by adding pears to the cranberry sauce.

These tiny pieces of pear absorb the incredible flavor of the cranberry sauce, making each bite a delightful surprise!

How to make this Sweet and Tangy Cranberry Pear Sauce:
Rinse the cranberries and remove any damaged cranberries. The pear should then be peeled and cored before being diced to the desired size. I prefer mine to be slightly larger.

Place the cranberries, pears, orange juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium saucepan. Then stir in the sugar until well combined. Bring to a boil over high heat in a saucepan. Then, to balance the flavors, add a pinch of salt. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 7 to 10 minutes or until most of the cranberries burst. This is when you begin to hear the popping sound.

Sprinkle a pinch of orange zest over the cranberries once they’ve burst for a nice kick.

Take the pot off the heat. Allow the sauce to cool completely before transferring it to a container with a tight-fitting lid. Don’t worry if you notice the sauce isn’t thick enough. The cranberry sauce will thicken further as it cools in the refrigerator.
