Homemade-Sofrito

My way of adding variety to my meals is by preparing many seasonings and sauces. Last year, I shared my first Sofrito recipe, which infused the authentic flavors of the Caribbean culture. I wanted to introduce another version of Sofrito using Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce.

Chipotle-Sofrito

I used this sofrito to make these chicken breasts for dinner, and it was a hit with my family. One of the advantages of making this Sofrito in advance is that you can have it prepped in your fridge and ready to use to marinate your meat and poultry for a fuss-free meal. This is also meal-prep friendly; all you have to do is place the meat in a  freezer bag and add this Sofrito. Once you’re ready to cook, all you have to do is take it out of the freezer and thaw it out. This will also be a great space saver in the fridge as the meats will be packed in small amounts, making it easier to arrange the freezer.

*This makes about 1 cup of the seasoning.

This chipotle sofrito lasts in the fridge for about a week, and it will still taste fresh, or you can use an ice tray and freeze them to make it last longer, as I  show you with my other version of  Sofrito. …
