Juicy Turkey Breast

This Juicy Turkey Breast Recipe is the perfect and delicious option for the upcoming holidays or everyday family dinner. The turkey breast is seasoned with a mixture of butter and herbs that gives the turkey lots of flavor and keeps it moist. This recipe will make things easier this coming thanksgiving for those of you that don’t have too much time to prepare a whole turkey, or for those hosting for a small group of people these coming holidays.

The combination of the butter with all the herbs and spices is what makes this turkey breast very moist. I use room temperature unsalted butter, fresh thyme, and rosemary, and of course my favorite ingredient Ever, fresh garlic. The trick to make this moist turkey breast is to loosen and lift turkey breast top skin using your fingers, gently to not break it, and softly spoon small amounts of the herb buttery combination. Then massage those small pockets of the mixture to spread it. Make sure you add the mixture inside the cavity as well.

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • 6-10 lb Turkey Breast (bone-in)
  • Garlic
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • Unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • Thyme (fresh) 
  • Rosemary  (fresh) 
  • Vegetable broth
  • White wine (optional)

A combination of vegetables :

  •  Potatoes
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Onion

How do you cook a Turkey Breast?

The first step is to preheat the oven to 425°F( 220°C). Then, rinse and clean the cavity of the turkey breast. If your turkey breast brings a thermometer already inserted, make sure to keep it intact. . Then, using a paper towel, proceed to pat dry the turkey. This will ensure a crispy delicious turkey breast. 

Place the butter in a small mixing bowl and set aside. Then, peel the garlic cloves and place them in a mortar and pestle. Add salt and black pepper to create the garlic paste. Place the garlic mixture in the same container with the butter.

Roughly with a knife chop the fresh thyme and rosemary and combine those with the butter and garlic.

Next, place turkey breast on a cutting board with skin side up and using your fingers loosen and lift the turkey breast skin, gently to not break it. Season with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and softly using a spoon insert small amounts of the herb buttery combination creating small pockets of the mixture underneath the turkey breast skin. Then using your hands smooth those pockets distributing the mixture all in the inside. Spread some of the mixtures outside the turkey as well.

Turkey-BreastRoughly cut the veggies and place them on a roasting pan and place the turkey breast on the top rack. Add 1½ cup of vegetable broth.

Spread some melted butter (1 teaspoon) over the turkey breast and place it in the oven to cook for 40 to 50 minutes. Every 20 minutes go in with a baster and collect some of the liquid from the bottom and pour all over the top of the turkey breast. This is going to help to keep the meat moist and helps it become nice and golden.

After 40-50 minutes has passed proceed to add   ½ cup white wine and cook the turkey for an extra 15 minutes at a lower temperature of  350°F higher temperature.

Then, increase the temperature to broil for 5 minutes. Take out of the oven and remove the thermometer, let the turkey breast rest for at least 10 to 15 minutes before you cut into it.

To make a simple gravy:

Remove the veggies and transfer the pan drippings into a skillet. Bring to a simmer, whisking constantly, until it thickened.

Place the turkey on a nice serving tray and serve the tasty veggies. Pair the turkey breast with veggies and some delicious cranberry sauce.
