I’m so excited to share one of my favorite salsa recipes. This Avocado Tomatillo Salsa is creamy, smooth, and flavorful. It pairs fantastically over grilled chicken, a juicy chicken breast, or a piece of delicious steak.
We also can’t override the crispy chips. This Avocado Tomatillo Salsa is the perfect choice as an appetizer or snack.
Just 5 simple ingredients and 5 minutes of preparation ( no cooking is required) It’s all you need to make this delicious salsa 🙂
Of all of these ingredients, there might be one that you probably have seen many times in your supermarket. I’m talking about tomatillos also known as the Mexican husk tomato. Tomatillos can taste a little acidic on its own however, it makes it the perfect combination when it’s paired with avocado.

How to make Avocado Tomatillo Salsa:
There are only a few steps to make this Avocado Tomatillo Salsa. The first step is to get the tomatillos ready. For this, I remove the papery husk of the 6 tomatillos. Also, make sure to rinse them as they have a sticky layer.
Then, peel 3 garlic cloves and remove seeds from 1 Jalapeño pepper, 2 avocados, and dice and place them in a blender. If you are looking for a more chunky texture, use a food processor. I decided to use my blender to make the salsa smooth and creamy.
Next, squeeze 1 lime and add salt to taste. I use 1 teaspoon of kosher salt. Mix until all the ingredients are combined and you have a creamy and smooth salsa. This salsa recipe pairs perfectly with any type of meats and poultry, especially chicken.
