Greek Yogurt Chicken Marinade Ingredients

The best part! This recipe only needs a handful of everyday ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.

  • Chicken: I like to use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for this recipe, but you could also use chicken breasts or drumsticks.
  • Greek Yogurt:  I love marinating my chicken with yogurt because it makes the chicken so incredibly tender! The Greek yogurt adds a delicious tang to the chicken. And it also helps to keep the chicken moist and juicy.
  • Garlic: Although I prefer to use fresh garlic cloves, you have the option to use garlic powder or garlic paste as a substitute.
  • Paprika: Adds a nice color and flavor to the chicken
  • Oregano: I use fresh oregano leaves, however, the powder works as well
  • Coriander: Coriander has an earthy and lemony flavor
  • Onion powder: adds a sweet and savory flavor
  • Chili Flakes: Also known as red pepper flakes. Adds a mild kick of flavor and spiciness. I highly recommend it.
  • Lemon: the juice of half of lemon
  • Oil: I like to use olive oil or avocado oil in my cooking
  • Salt & pepper to taste

How to make Yogurt-Marinated Roasted Chicken:

First Step: Pat dry the chicken with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. I like to score the chicken so the marinade goes right in. Season generously with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Coat the chicken in the yogurt mixture, making sure to cover every part of it. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 15 minutes. I recommend it because it gives the chicken plenty of time to absorb all of the flavors from the marinade.
